But challenging safety specifications do not mean that elegant aesthetics have to be sacrificed. Our glass fire screens and fire rated partitions offer a sleek solution, at the same time as permitting maximum light fenestration to create a bright and spacious environment – as well as safe.

All of our systems benefit from the latest fire glass technology combined with sleek yet robust steel profiles (E30 utilise aluminium profiles), creating a stunning and stylish solution that looks like standard frameless glass partition systems – a perfect harmony of safety and aesthetics.
Despite such high ratings in fire safety performance, Viso Fire Screens benefit from super slim design, with the profiles having a face width of as little as 50mm and track depth from only 65mm. This maximises floor space and the visible glass area, maintaining the over-riding feeling of a pleasant, bright and spacious environment. Fire screens are also available with butt-jointed glazing up to 3500mm high and to EI30 and EI60 fire ratings, achieving the impression of continuous glass thanks to the minimalist jointing and flush finish. Acoustic performance is also excellent, achieving up to 50db (Rw), ensuring that Viso Fire Screens can be used for any application, even where acoustic glass partitions would normally be specified.
Viso Fire Screens and Fire Rated Partitions are available in a choice of powder coat RAL colours to meet your project’s design aesthetics or customer corporate colours. Fire screens can also be supplied in an attractive stainless steel finish, ideal for contemporary styled projects where an industrial aesthetic is desired. Glazing can be finished in a choice of standard manifestation film, or your own design of bespoke graphics for an individual appearance.
Of course, fire screens also require fire rated door to ensure fire safety for the complete system. Viso Fire Screens are supplied with a choice of fire rated single or double glazed glass doors, or solid steel doors. For the most prestigious projects or where space is limited, we also offer an innovative fire rated sliding glass door. All ensure a safe escape route for building occupants. Viso Fire Rated Partitions are available with a choice of fire rated timber doors, with the option of fire rated vision panels.
Most glazed partition systems do not require fire rating to conform to UK building regulations. Where a fire rated solution is required, Viso Partitions cannot advise you on which classification of fire screen or fire rated partition to use for your application. Please refer to your local Building Control Officer, who will advise you about the fire rating requirements and specifications needed in each area of your building. We can then guide you through the options available in the Viso Fire Screens range to comply with these requirements.
Understanding what each of the different fire ratings mean is important, to ensure that the correct solution is firstly quoted and then installed to comply with the fire rating level that your local Building Control Officer confirms is required for your building.
Viso Fire Screens and Fire Rated Partitions are classified using E and EI ratings, that are specified for glass, steel and aluminium products. The ratings are defined as follows:
E Fire Ratings – Integrity Only
Integrity only fire ratings refer only to the amount of time the product – fire screen and door – will provide protection by preventing the passage of flames and smoke from the fire side of the screen to the non-fire side. Integrity only ratings do not offer any protection against heat.
The rating uses the letter “E” followed by the length of time in minutes. The rating may sometimes also be referred to as 2 numbers, eg 30/0. The first number is the Integrity rating of minutes and the second the Insulation rating in minutes (see below). Typical E ratings are:
EI Fire Ratings – Integrity & Insulation
Integrity & Insulation fire ratings refer to the amount of time the product – fire screen and door – will provide protection by preventing the passage of flames and smoke AND heat from the fire side of the screen to the non-fire side.
